At Fancy Dress Shop, we want every costume adventure to be absolutely magical! While we strive to ensure you receive the perfect costume for your event, we understand that sometimes things might not work out as planned. That’s why we offer a straightforward returns and exchanges policy to keep the magic alive.

Our Return Policy

We gladly accept returns and exchanges within 15 days of you receiving your item(s). To be eligible for a return or exchange, your item must be:

  • Unworn and unused
  • In its original packaging with all tags attached
  • In the same condition as when you received it

Please note: For hygiene reasons, we cannot accept returns on certain intimate items or costumes that have been obviously worn. This includes but isn’t limited to:

  • Costume makeup and face paints
  • Accessories that come into direct contact with skin
  • Wigs and hair accessories that have been removed from packaging
  • Any item where the hygiene seal has been broken

How to Initiate a Return or Exchange

Follow these simple steps to return or exchange an item:

  1. Contact our customer service team at [email protected] within 15 days of receiving your order.
  2. Provide your order number and details about the item you wish to return or exchange.
  3. We’ll email you a Returns Authorisation Number and instructions for shipping the item back to us.
  4. Package the item securely in its original packaging and include the Returns Authorisation Number clearly on the package.
  5. Ship the package to our address (shipping costs for returns are the customer’s responsibility):

Return & Exchange Request Template

Use this template when emailing us to request a return or exchange:

Subject: Return/Exchange Request – Order #[Your Order Number]

I would like to request a [return/exchange] for an item from my order #[Your Order Number].

Item to return: [Product Name]

Reason for return/exchange: [Please briefly explain why you’re returning/exchanging the item]

If exchanging, I would like to exchange for: [Product Name and Size if applicable]

Please send me the Returns Authorisation Number and further instructions.

Refunds

Once we receive and inspect your returned item, we’ll process your refund within 5-7 business days. The refund will be issued to your original payment method:

  • Credit/Debit Card (Visa, MasterCard, JCB): 5-10 business days for the refund to appear on your statement, depending on your bank’s processing time
  • PayPal: 3-5 business days for the refund to appear in your PayPal account

Please note that original shipping fees are non-refundable, and return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.

Exchanges

For exchanges, we’ll ship your replacement item once we’ve received and processed your return. Standard shipping fees apply for the new item unless the exchange is due to an error on our part.

Damaged or Incorrect Items

If you receive a damaged item or the wrong product, please contact us immediately at [email protected]. We’ll arrange a replacement or refund and provide a prepaid shipping label for returning the incorrect item.
